DEDICATION

This blog is dedicated to the memory of my late wife, Johanna L. Hardesty, who passed away unexpectedly on 2 April 2022. She was not only my constant companion, but my research partner as well. She was, among other things, a superb researcher. This blog would not exist without her invaluable input.

ABOUT ME

My forte is research. I've been researching one thing or another most of my life. It started with butterflies and went on from there. Historical research came to me in the latter half of my existence on this plane. I've published the results of my research from time to time. A bibliography follows below.

I established a research collection of butterflies when I was still in high school. The collection consists of several thousand specimens in three dozen or so drawers. I haven't added much to it recently, as other things have occupied my time, such as historical research.

Another of my interests of long standing is typographic design. I have designed our books and several other publications, including a newsletter and journal for the local chapter of The Westerners International, for which latter publications I also served as editor. In the Bibliography which follows, entries preceded by an asterisk (*) are those for which I am responsible for the design and typography.

My late wife and I began writing an epic fantasy series of novels some years ago. Unfortunately, she recently passed away and now I must forge on alone to complete what we started. For the sake of completeness, I include what has been published of that effort in the bibliography below.
